VERANSTALTUNGEN - Äthiopisch-orthodoxe Tewahedo Debre-Sina St. Kidane-Mehret und Erzengel St. Gabriel Kirche in Österreich

Ich freute mich, als sie zu mir sagten: "Wir gehen zum Haus des HERRN!" (Psalm 122,1)

In Österreich gibt es zwei Gemeinden der äthiopisch-orthodoxen Tewahedo Kirche. Diese Kirche, St. Debre-Sina Kidane-Mehret und Erzengel St. Gabriel, ist in Wien, Heiligenstadt. Sie dient Gläubigen in ganz Österreich und einigen Nachbarländern.

Durch die sieben Sakramente empfangen ihre Kinder die Gnade und den Segen Gottes. Außerdem betet die Kirche – wie es vorgeschrieben ist - für die Toten, für Kranke, für verfolgte Menschen und Gefangene.

Der Gottesdienst beginnt jeden Sonntag um 7:00:
       von 7:00-8:00: Morgengebet,
       von 8:00-10:00: heilige Messe,
       von 10:00-10:30: gemeinsames Singen von Kirchenliedern,
       von 10:30-11:00: Predigt.

Außer St. Gabriel und Kidane-Mehret-Fest feiert unsere Kirche das Kreuzfest, St. Michael, Epiphanie, Kreuzigung, Ostern, und andere mehr. Fünfmal im Jahr gibt es Prozessionen mit der Bundeslade (Tabot).

Die Kirchenfeste werden gemäß der äthiopischen Tradition gefeiert - Sie können in unserer Kirche ein Stück äthiopischer Kultur erleben. Nach dem Gottesdienst gibt es Brot und Getränke oder andere äthiopische Speisen. Die Geistlichen und die Gemeindemitglieder essen gemeinsam die Speisen, die den Heiligen geweiht sind.

I was glad when they said unto me, Let us go into the house of the LORD. (Psalm 122,1)

At present, the Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahedo Church in Austria has two parishes. This Church, St. Debre-Sina Kidane-Mehret and Archangel St. Gabriel, is located in Vienna, Heiligenstadt. It gives regular services to its followers that live throughout Austria and in neighbouring countries.

Through the holy seven sacraments, her children receive the blessings and grace of God. Moreover, prayers for the dead, for the sick, for the persecuted, and for prisoners are said.

Every Sunday, the service begins at 7:00:
       from 7:00-8:00: morning prayer,
       from 8:00-10:00: holy Mass,
      from 10:00-10:30: singing of Church hymns,
      from 10:30-11:00: sermon.

In addition to St. Gabriel and Kidane-Mehret, our Church celebrates The Feast of the Cross, St. Michael, Epiphany, Crucification, Easter, and many others. Five times a year, the Ark (Tabot) is brought out in a procession.

Since the feasts are celebrated according to the Ethiopian order, tradition and culture, you will experience a piece of Ethiopian culture in our Church. After the service, there is bread and drinks or other food, prepared in the name of the Saints, and the clergymen and faithful eat together in a room next to the Church.
